How Does Industrial & Marine Pumps Work

The basic design of a marine pump includes an impeller, which is a rotating component that creates suction and pressure to move the fluid. The impeller is housed within a casing that directs the flow of fluid into and out of the pump.

 

When the pump is turned on, the impeller begins to rotate, creating a low-pressure area at the inlet of the pump. This low-pressure area causes the fluid to be drawn into the pump through the inlet. As the impeller continues to rotate, the fluid is pushed out of the pump at high pressure through the outlet.
